1. Product and release information
Nome is a publicly available product and its Android client is offered as a public website download. The current APK is not production-signed or listed in an app store. Releases will continue to evolve and are not recommended for critical use that cannot tolerate interruption.
2. Eligibility
Invite applications currently require confirmation that the applicant is outside mainland China. This applies only to invite applications, is not an APK download restriction, and is not legal advice.
3. Prohibited abuse
Do not impersonate others, mass-submit requests, brute-force invites, distribute malicious content, or use the service to harm others.
4. Suspension and revocation
To address abuse, security incidents, or operational risk, Nome may pause, revoke, or expire requests, invites, and future benefits while retaining necessary audit records. Public downloads do not depend on these states.
5. Download and installation risk
The current APK is a large ARM64 debug build and is not production-signed. Verify the HTTPS origin, SHA-256, package name, version, and device compatibility.
6. Local data and backup responsibility
Chat data is primarily local. Before deleting the app, clearing data, changing devices, or installing a different package name, create and verify your backup. Unbacked data may be unrecoverable.
7. Migration to a later signed build
The current package is chat.simplex.app.nome.dev. A later production-signed build may use another package name and signature, require a separate install and backup import, and may not upgrade in place.
8. Service and terms may change
Features, invite eligibility, versions, retention, and service scope may change as the product evolves. Material changes will be described on the relevant page or in notices.
9. Future charges and refunds
There is currently no public payment flow, and no payment success or refund promise is fabricated. Nome may introduce paid plans later; pricing, entitlements, and refund terms must be stated before purchase.
